Abstract
This project looks at the effects of using picture books as instructional tools during read aloud to support the literacy growth of young children. Furthermore, the project conducts and analyzes a survey in which local teachers of Washington State are surveyed on their current use of picture books in the classroom, and questions they have regarding the use of picture books in the classroom.
