Utilizing Onboarding Practices to Engage and Retain Employees in the K–12 Setting

Abstract

To illuminate the relationship between onboarding practices and employee engagement and retention, this capstone combines novel data from a large, urban school district with a review of research focused on employee engagement, retention, and organizational socialization. Recommendations for improving the necessary elements of an effective onboarding experience are discussed.
