This portfolio demonstrates the expertise gained through the English Language Learners Master’s program at Vanderbilt University to be a highly qualified teacher of ELL students. I begin with my personal philosophy of teaching that provides a framework of the theories and practices most influential to me as a teacher. I then demonstrate my professional knowledge of the five TESOL domains, language, culture, planning and instruction, assessment, and professionalism, by presenting artifacts from my work at Peabody. I hold the artifacts up to the framework presented in my philosophy of teaching and analyze how each domain interacts with the learner, learning environment, curriculum, and assessments. Finally, I examine how to bridge between theory and practice and reflect on my collection of work, what I have learned, and how it has impacted me as I look ahead to the start of my career.en_US
