This portfolio serves as a reflection of my two-year graduate study at Peabody College English Language Learners (ELL) program. Meanwhile, it also demonstrates my professional knowledge and abilities of becoming a qualified English teacher for second language learners. The portfolio consists of three parts: 1) philosophy of teaching, 2) eight domains of TESOL standards and 3) reflections for future teaching career. In the first part, I demonstrated theoretical frameworks concerning teaching English as a second language. The theories unfold in a logical order by presenting personal understanding from the level of individual learners, curriculum, and instructional methods and practices, which highlights the value of multiculturalism and constructivism. In the second part, I provided corresponding artifacts showing my understanding for the eight domains of the TESOL standards, including planning, instructing, assessing, identity and context, language proficiency, learning, content, and commitment and professionalism. In the last part, I present the view of myself as being an English teacher, envision some possible challenges and bring up ways to cope with the future challenges.en_US
