The area of inquiry for this Capstone project concerns a school’s ability to support developing adolescents’ academic, cognitive, psychological, physical, and social-emotional needs. Chaminade Middle School is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school where commitment to the school's mission, as well as rigorous academic preparation are paramount. Through this mixed-methods study, five findings emerged related to balancing appropriate levels of extra-curricular involvement for students, how schools encourage a sense of belonging, and how to implement multi-tiered systems of support.en_US
