Validation of a Non-invasive Prenatal Screening Patient Knowledge Scale

Abstract

The first aim of this study is to achieve face validity of the knowledge items that are written to confirm adequate understanding of key concepts surrounding NIPS screening. The second aim is to achieve concept validity of each knowledge item to confirm that the statements are meaningful to an individual’s decision of whether to undergo screening. Successful completion of each aim includes the rewriting of any knowledge items that fail a validity step; retesting the new knowledge items would ensue until all knowledge items pass as valid.
