Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity and professor of history at Yale University, as he delivers the first of the 2006 Vanderbilt Cole Lectures on Oct. 19 at Benton Chapel. Sanneh, an important voice in inter-religious dialogue, was raised an orthodox Muslim before converting to Christianity. The Cole Lectures were established in 1892 by Col. E.W.
