Description
While there are many issues that could be discussed concerning divination and oracle inquiry, Professor Jack Sasson chooses to discuss a more pragmatic one, namely "how to interpret divine answers to human inquiry." In his discussion, Professor Sasson looks to the Mari records of the 18th century B.C.E. for background material, in part because "practitioners shared an understanding of how to gain useful
knowledge from the practice" of divination.
