Warren delivers the 2009 Harry C. Howard, Jr., Lecture, sponsored by the Robert Penn Warren Center for the Humanities, on Oct. 29, 2009. Carolyn Dever, Dean of the College of Arts and Science, welcomes the audience and Edward H. Friedman, Chancellor's Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature, introduces Warren. Warren, poet, professor at Boston University, and daughter of the writer for whom the center is named, reads poems from her most recent manuscript, which was untitled at the time, and talks about the poems, her ways of writing, and her difficulty in choosing a title for the book. She takes questions from the audience at the end. The book was published in 2011 by Norton as Ghost in a Red Hat.
