Measurement of Elliptic Flow of Open Heavy Flavor Muons in gold+gold Collisions in PHENIX

Abstract

We present the first measurements of forward rapidity charged hadron and open heavy flavor muon elliptic flow at RHIC energies. We use the event plane method to measure elliptic flow as a function of transverse momentum in the 2014 and 2016 datasets of 200 GeV Au+Au collisions. The results show clear non-zero elliptic flow of heavy flavor muons and clear mass ordering between charged hadrons and heavy flavor muons.
