Zimri-Lim had been on the throne in Mari for fewer than ten years when he was summoned by his father-in-law, Yarim-Lim. Zimri-Lim sat out on a trip to the Mediterranean that lasted nearly six months. He was accompanied by over four thousand men and carried with him much of his wealth. Professor Sasson provides many details of this extraordinary journey, the itenerary of which was charted in administrative documents.
