Abstract
Description
Includes descriptive metadata provided by producer in MP3 file: "Darryl M. Trimiew, chair of the department of religion and philosophy at Medgar Evers College, presented his paper entitled 'Black Churches and Public Policy' at the National Black Church Studies Consultation. The Consultation was held Jan 31 through Feb 2 at Vanderbilt University." The lack of a monolithic black community has meant that the Black Church has not effected any meaningful public policy changes since the civil rights movement. Trimiew argues that the church should be an effective advocate for young black males.
