Abstract
This study evaluated the pre-matriculation program at a midwestern medical school, identified by the pseudonym St. Juan University. Medical school pre-matriculation programs are among the national strategies to address disparities in healthcare. The St. Juan University pre-matriculation program has a deficiency in program documentation that requires program administrators to rely on informal measures for decision-making. Our mixed methods research produced key findings in academic and social integration, program management, data and communications limitations, and shifts in organizational culture.
