    Abstract

    John B. Bellinger III, Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, outlines the origin of the Alien Tort Statute and the recent Supreme Court decision that limited its scope. He also discusses the type and quantity of litigation employing the statute before and after the Supreme Court decision.
